ON FEMALE FILMMAKING 女性拍电影
You know I teach American Cinema and Culture,
I constantly think: “Can I just find some female filmmakers and celebrate their work”?
And of course I discovered a few of them
Next week I am going to introduce Maya Daren, who is an experimental artist,
Who is very innovative in filmmaking.
I ultimately think women have the great potential to become great filmmakers.
I think we are very sensitive, intuitive and very visual.
We think very deeply,
We should just be daring enough to endure the darkness
while we are working inside the tunnel.
Because a lot of time you are not supported financially, you are alone,
You don’t even have a family when you do this kind of work.
So therefore we should stand the test of God, of art.
so we can come out as a true artist
