WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This documentary production workshop combines production with history and theory. The workshop emphasizes on the principle of visual story telling in both short and long form documentaries of various genres. Students will learn critical viewing skills as how to evaluate documentaries on the basis of picture composition, camera movement and lighting, use of music and audio effects and script techniques; they also will produce a her/his documentary of 10min going through the process of research, pre-planning and writing, shooting & editing.
Hands-on demonstrations, screenings, readings, and discussion prepare students to produce a documentary. Students gain production experience working individually and in groups. The course lay solid foundation for those who enter professional career in journalism, TV and Film & multimedia productions.

课程阐述
跨文化纪录片制作工坊是综合学习纪录片发展历史理论和拍摄实践的课程，教授纪录短片和长片的视觉叙事要领，培养学生专业从不同角度看片，学习构图，镜头运动，灯光，音乐等方面的影评技巧。学生制作10分钟的自己的纪录片，学会调研、计划、拍摄、剪辑、写稿、配音等专业技能。
教学模式为教师讲座，获奖影片片段分析，课上讨论课下阅读，教师和业界特邀大师给予理论和动手实践指导。本课要求学生既会独立作业又可以分组合作。纪录片制作课为那些立志于从事新闻，影视和多媒体制作或相关行业的人奠定重要基础。
